What a great year 2013 was, with its many new adventures and places. I got a new job, bought a Mt. Baker season pass and am constantly getting better at snowboarding, and moved into a beautiful house with my best friend. What I love most about a new year is making goals about who I want to be, and the feeling of a new beginning, so for 2014 I’ve made three resolutions of sorts, and I seek to accomplish every one of them.
1. Take advantage of the seasons by spending as much time as possible outdoors. Read on the porch instead of the couch, snowboard during winter, hike and climb during spring and summer, camp all the time. Be a freakin’ bum.
2. Meet more people and maintain new and old relationships.
3. Most importantly, be happy and healthy, confident and thankful, responsible and kind by making smart life choices. Drink less alcohol, eat healthier food, and be content in the present by accepting that I can’t control the future.
In the depth of winter I finally learned that there was in me an invincible summer.
